Black Lives Matter!

The Harvard administration recently forced the removal of a prominent Black Lives Matter sign which had been displayed on campus since 2020. We believe that now, as in 2013 or 2020, it is necessary to protest the systemic violence oppressing Black people in America. As this is what this BLM sign stood for, this is what we want to stand for. We also believe that it is our right and duty to uphold the value of free speech as a core principle of university life. However, Harvard University management has been enacting anti-DEI and anti-free speech policies alongside rejecting our bargaining proposals to protect academic freedom. Harvard University must remain a place of free speech and inclusion. Standing together in unity and solidarity with Harvard Graduate Students Union (HGSU-UAW) and the Harvard Undergraduate Students Union (HUWU-UAW) and to protest the University muzzling our free speech, we encourage you to display Black Lives Matter signs on your windows on the morning of Thursday October 16th. See more here.
