Because we have another bargaining session this coming Monday, we will keep today’s update short and offer a more detailed update next week.
We had our seventh Bargaining Session yesterday. The key highlight came from Jenya, who delivered a powerful, moving, and motivating speech, highlighting the shameful absurdity of the administration taking advantage of our passion and dedication to extract work and prestige while putting us in precarious and unstable situations.
We ask that anyone who can come to the session on Monday, December 16th 2-5pm please join us to hear important testimony from our colleagues on issues addressed in our outstanding proposals. There are two ways to join the meeting: In person or via Zoom. The bargaining session will be held in Harvard Square, and we will ask in-person observers to arrive at 1:30 so we can brief you on expectations and the plan for the session. To join in person, RSVP here and we’ll send the location information over the weekend. To join via Zoom, RSVP here. While it is ideal you stay for the whole session, if you have to leave early that is okay.
If you can testify about 1) job security, 2) harassment, 3) time caps, 4) challenges of being an international worker, 5) abuse, 6) experience as a stipendee, 7) how little say you have in your department or 8) any other topic you think you have a good story about, let us know ASAP. We will help prepare you.
